YaIt began when Margaret Lion, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology, decided that each of the players needed their own cheer. This has kept her - and other Triple B members - busy. Below are the cheers used by Margaret and other Triple B members. You are, of course, encouraged to use them as well.
Now if you are not sure what to shout, you can always listen to the cheerleaders or Spirit Squad. Our Spirit Squad members are fantastic!! Plus they are competition winners in their own right. They have won six national titles in eight years! Go cheerleaders!!
Overall Cheers - Applied to Entire Team
Standards - Well-Known IU Cheers:
Coaches Approved Cheer
Individual Cheers
Individual cheers are created specifically for each individual player. Sometimes it take a while to get just the right cheer, but it is worth it. Sometimes the cheers work off the players names, sometimes we use the nicknames given by teammates. We never know how or when a cheer will happen, but it is always good when it does. To those who do not yet have their cheers, fret not. You will. :)

Standards - Well-Known IU Cheers:
- Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoosiers! - Shout whenever you like.
- IU! [clap, clap] IU! [clap, clap] - Chant and clap whenever you like.
- Listen to Your Coach! - Shout thus to encourage the team to listen to the wisdom of Coach Moren and her staff.
- Defense! Defense! Defense IU! - Shout this when the team are on the defense. (Obviously)
- Go Red! Go White! - Referring to our lovely school colors.
- Dee Dee Dee Dee DeFense! Defense! Dee Dee Dee Dee DeFense! - Sing/cheer this to the tune of the "Batman" TV show. Special thanks to my soul sister Alicia for thinking this one up.
Coaches Approved Cheer
- "LISTEN TO YOUR COACH!" This cheer has been approved by the coaches, therefore I feel it is very special.

- Lexus Bargessar - #1 - "Number 1!" Look, I love Star Trek and Number 1 is a very important position. Also "Keep 'Em Guessing" is still in the the back of my mind depending on how her name is pronounced.
- Kaitlin Petersen - #3 - "Powerhouse!" Watch her play and you will know why.
- Yardon Garzon - #12 - "Deadly Dozen" or "Dangerous Dozen"
- Sara Scalia - #14 - "Fortnight!" Now fortNIGHT talks about the span of 14 days. However the new game FortNITE is a powerful game so I think it totally works for this player.
- Henna Sandvik - #21 - Working on it...
- Chloe Moore-McNeil - #22 - "Crimson and Chloe!" Yes, the song does go through my head.
- Kiandra Browne - #23 - "KEE-AHN-DRA!" until I find something better.
- Mona Zaric - #24 - Working on it...
- Arielle Wisne - #25 - "Arielle is Magic!" "She Can Do Magic!" Because Ariel is a character of magic in our world.
- Alyssa Geary - #32 - "Year of the Gear." She told me this was her cheer so it is!
- Sydney Parish - #33 - "Preachin' on the Court!" She likes it.
- Grace Berger - #34 - New and improved thanks to new Triple B Member Rob "Amazing Grace!" or the old classic "Grace Brings the Pressure!"
- Lilly Meister - #52 - "Master Meister"
- Mackenzie Holmes - #54 - "The Mack Attack!" or "You just got Macked!"
Moments. These are special moments in the game that have special cheers.
- Every time we make a basket I stand up and yell "Yes" or "Hooray" or "Way to go!" Shout what you feel is appropriate.
- When the opposing team is up for a free throw I shout "Talk to the hand!" and use the appropriate gesture of open palm to them with my face turned away.
- If the opposing team makes a free throw I will yell "Bored now." (See Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series for the full reference.)
- When our team does something exceptional or that I love I will yell "Not worthy! I was not worthy to have seen that! I will have to be a better person to be worthy to have seen that!" I may not shout all of this, but all of the parts are pretty good. I will add bowing gestures with my arms too.
- Time outs. When our team is having a time out, I like to stand up and smile and wave my pompoms. I now try not to say anything so they can hear their coaches.
Finally enjoy the "How to do the 'Fists and Blades'" video. Very educational.
